I'm goin to sydney in april for a couple of weeks then heading south to check out Melbourne and that area then heading north to Cairns and everywhere in between. then onto NZ for a up to a year. I only plan on taking a couple t shirts, a pair of jeans, a weat shirt, a camera, and a laptop... anything I should bring that I might not think about? Anything I should do to prepare should I learn about poisonous things before I go down there? anyone ever take those oz experience buses? are they worth it? I'm thinkin I want to travel for few weeks than settling down up north for the remainder of the trip. These seem like a good way to go but I'd like to hear from people that have actually done it. how is farming in australia? is it fun? or at least a welcome change of pace for city dwellers? sorry about all the questions...if you feel like answering any of them or telling any australian stories I'd greatly appreciate it. thanks, Paul

lukehodges Member Sydney	# Posted: 8 Jan 2008 01:05:47 Hey mate, Could probably answer some of your questions seeing I live here, Bring some warm weather clothing as well (or buy some over here), April weather can still surprise you and come up with a 30 degree day (celcius) As far as poisonous goes, if you get bitten by something, generally its best to go to hospital to make sure, most of our spiders are deadly and just about all our snakes that you might come across are (especially if you're looking into farming). We're in the middle of a massive drought at the moment (even though we have floods up north, go figure) so not too sure how much farming work will be available.
