vicki Member northern ireland	# Posted: 25 May 2006 22:45:36 Hi everyone! Im heading RTW and head to cairns around the middle of April. Staying for about 3 months but finishing in melbourne. Gonna stay for the first few weeks in cairns so was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what to do when i get there or if anyone is there when i am wanna meet up?! After staying in cairns for a few weeks im probly gonna do the oz experience down to melbourne, but unfortunalt doing al this by myself, would rather travel with someone or others! Any advice greatly appreciated!! thanks! vicki

Dannii Member United Kingdom (Great Britain)	# Posted: 11 Jul 2006 17:27:26 Hello chick Ah Cairns is quite a cool little place with an amazing features such as the Daintree Rainforest and The Great Barrier reef! ... Whatever hostel you stay at ( We stayed at Palace which was a renovated cinema complex and had a swimming pool on the roof!) will be able to book a tour for you. Having done the Oz Experience it definatley was an experience! ... If you go say hello to 'Forest' ( aka Brad and ask about Monkey Island!!)heh. If you are travelling on your own its a great way of meeting ppl , but if drinkings not your top priority then the Greyhounds are also an option too!. STA failed to tell us we would need to put some more money towards OZ Experience when we were actually out there and 2-3 days tours of the rainforest , Whitsunday Islands and Fraser all take a lil bit of cash from your budget... but not too much just as long as you're aware. Whitsundays was beau , beau, beau ... sailing round on a catarmaran , swimming in the sea , BBQs ... ( ah when can I go Back?!, heh). Fraser Island is a must too , such great fun! The self- drive option is always the best!. I loveed Noosa , Brisbane and also surf camp ( part of Oz Experience ... you also get to Zorb too!). Your route sounds very similar to mine and Melbourne is a great final spot ... Dont miss Neighbours night and just sit back ... or jump on the free city circle tram and mooch and explore the uber - cool city. Sorry once again chatted lots ...
