I'm planning on going with a friend to Australia for 3 months in February 2009, we've only just decided and we're totally unprepared !! we'll be flying to and from Sydney but want to travel all the way up to Cairns within the 3 months.
We're stuck on everything from what kind of backpack to take (we're both very petite girls so don't know what size would be best), which buss pass to get (greyhound or oz experience??), where to stop off at along the way, and how much money we'll need !!
if anyone has any advice on these things and anything else we need to take into account before going we would really appreciate it !!
Hi sammy, i havent caught buses up the east coast but rather drived the entire east coast. I got to stop where i wanted and when i wanted for as long as i wanted. I would be interested to see what the bus fares are from say Sydeny to Cairns.
I have a 4wd and live in Melbourne and would drive up the east coast again as a tour guide if you were interested.
Nonetheless you should visit the Daintree Forest, Noosa, fraser Island, Asutralia Zoo as a bare minimum on your trip.
Cheers
John
