alan Member	# Posted: 5 Jan 2007 23:35:26 Hi am a young 60 guy from \|England who loves backpacking i have been to Philippines only B4 i am arriving at Bangkok 28 Jan 07 and want to visit Cambodia Vietnam Laos then getting a plane 5 weeks later to Philippines has anyone got any tips like which way should i go around what to see ( i have so ideas already) tips on travelling around and places to stay all would be great help. I hope i have not left this to late to ask these questions take care all

HorseHead Mcgee Member	# Posted: 18 Jan 2007 21:58:00 Realize you will need to get Visa's in ADVANCE to go to Laos and Vietnam. So you will have to spend a few days in a major city like Bangkok to get visa to go to Vietnam and Laos. Unfortunately, I don't any route info for you. When I was in cambodia, most people who had original planned to go to Laos nixed the idea because it was too much hassle to get in and out of the country. Your best overall plan would probably be Thailand to Cambodia, Cambodia to Vietnam, then Vietnam to Philipines (probably via Thailand). For thailand, you simply need to decide what you want to do. Bangkok is not really worth hanging around, just head to an island and enjoy the relaxation and you save your strength for Cambodia. It is fairly easy to fly from Bangkok to Siem Reap (cambodia), and Cambodia is a blast. There is nothing special about Phenom Pehn.
