I am a Borneon, i have been exploring Borneo Rainforest since 8 years ago, so that i wanna share my experience with all backpackers.
Herewith Borneo in General :

Kalimantan or Borneo is the place to explore. This world's third largest island covering the area of 747,000 square kilometer and covered by one of the world's largest stretches of tropical rain forest through which flows tremendous mighty rivers which are the island's highway.
The Dayak Tribes, the indigenous people of Kalimantan were some of the fierce head-hunters. Today, they are no longer collect grisly trophies; the men hunt with blowguns while the women weave baskets of rattans using age-ol patterns and techniques or together hack their fields out of the jungle, burning the brush to provide nutrients to the poor soil.
The island is rich with many fascinating and endemic wildlife; the orangutans, proboscis monkeys, gibbons and species of monkeys, Argus pheasants, snakes including the three species of flying snakes, sun bears, 600 hundred species of birds including the hornbills which play an important role in the Dayak mythology.
The exotic plants includes the rare black orchids, carnivorous pitcher plants, 70 meter trees including the hardest wood in the rain forest "Iron Wood" and many more.
These trips will take you to explore the mighty Mahakam river and it's tributaries to meet the Dayak Tribes and experience their mystical arts & cultures, trekking through the jungle in searching for the exotic flora and fauna.
We will make you understand about everything you want to know about the Kalimantan Rain Forest and all creatures live in it and the cultures of the Dayak Tribes.

The ultimate challenge - crossing one of the most rugged islands on earth from East to West. Using roads, rivers and feet we traverse the jungle of Kalimantan (Indonesian Borneo). You must have a good level of fitness and adventurous spirit and a strong sense of determination, as conditions and accommodations are challenging.
We will use busses, public house boat, chartered motorized canoes to access the jungle for a rugged days of trekking. We sleep in the simple houses of the villager with basic facilities and on the house boats. The trekking is tough and often wet, the only way to appreciate the primeveral jungle of Kalimantan and the most traditional Dayak Tribes settlements as well as the wildlife.

The rough and uncharted terrain and has made this Borneo traverse trip is one of the toughest and the most challenging trekking programs in the world.. The unpredictable weather and river conditions made this trip an exploratory adventures "
To enjoy this trip, you need to be prepared to accept whatever the jungles and rivers serve up! A good fitness level, a strong sense of determination and a flexible attitude are essential. The rewards are the romance of the journey itself, the mix of river travel including long stretches of rapids, the experience of jungle trekking and contact with the local Dayak peoples.
