Hiya everyone,

I'm a 20 year old female from England travelling around Thailand in August with a friend. I've got a book, but any suggestions where to go, or where not to go? Or if anyone else is out there and wants to meet for a drink or anything? Drop me a line: keeley_webb@hotmail.com. Oooh Thailand!!

Cheers,
Keeley

Ah lucky you! Superly jealous , would soo love to return to Thailand this year! ( Ive recently returned from touring South -East Asia, Australia and New Zealand). Our fist stop was BKK ( soo many ppl give it such a negative name! Dont listen ... Its a city with nuggets of beauty in the form of The Grand Palace , Wat Po and Chatachuk Market ) Jump on a Tuk- Tuk ( You are putting your life in your own hands but its fab and a great way of experiencing such a different , surreal culture!) . Always approach them and make sure you settle a price or make sure the metre has been cleared . You can get one for about 40B ( 50P)... remember to say Kapun- kaaa ( Thank you) heh. Jump on the ferry / barge with the monks and if you plan to visit the palace , cover up your ankles , shoulders ect. Thanon Khoa San in the Banglumphu district is a must - stop ,being an institution in itself. Try and stay at the D&D Inn ( It has a swimming pool on the roof and is more like a 5* hotel than a hostel!) or Sawasdee Banglumphu Inn. Visit the FCO website beforehand ( Foreign Common- wealth Office ) for latests updates of thailand and their culture.
We headed down to Patong , Phuket ... I wouldn't advise it as it felt very much like blackpool! ... but definatley , definatley head to Krabi!! Beautiful , relaxed little settlement with cute bars ( Including Charlie's with Katun the bar waitor! .... Drink 'Timebombs all night for £7!). From the town you can nab a longtail boat ( a great experience in its self) to Railey Beach, Monkey Island ect or a ferry to Koh Phi Phi - Remember your deet spray though!
Have an absoultely amazing time chick and if you find this helpful dont hesitate to ask more ... I could jibba about the 'land of smiles' alll day ...

Hey Mel,

I'm going out to Thailand in Sept though I depart on the 20th Sept to Dubai for 2 nights then onto Thailand for approx 10 days then to Malaysia returning from Kuala Lumpar on the 8th Oct.
I'm 26, male. This is gonna be my second backpacking journey though have been to many others as a 'standard' holiday lol I'm travelling alone so would like to meet people out there and if they're Brits then hey it helps . Let me know if you'd like to chat. My email's on my profile.

Harm none, do what ye will
