Hello, I'm new here! (Started BP in 2003. Scared of heights, but sometimes I can handle it).
I'm planning to visit the Philippines next year. I have never backpacked there, but I want to check out conditions in Mt. Makiling, Mt. Pinatubo, and Mt. Arayat. If anyone had experience in backpacking in any of these, I would appreciate your input. Thanks and happy trails!!!

Mt. Pinatubo has different trails with the Sta. Juliana trail via Capas, Tarlac the most accessible even to those who have never climbed before. The entire trek is exhilirating and awesome---and eerie landscape of lahar, stones, and water.
For more excitement and adventure, the Delta 5 trail via Porac, Pampanga is long, tiring, but truly magnificent.
Will be climbing Mt. Arayat this weekend.
