Hi folks, I'm setting out on a 3-4 month Aisa/Oz/NZ trip in late October and looking for some advice. I'm planning to spend the first leg of my journey doing the well worn overland trip from Bangkok to Singapore, but could do with some advice on good places to visit en route, and a likely timeframe for the journey so I don't rush it.
All advice gratefully received...!

I'm planning on doing the same thing in January. I'll be travelling from Bankok to Ko Pha Nan island for the full moon party on the 14th Jan and then travelling down Thailand, through Malaysia to Singpore. I was planning on doing this in 5 weeks, basing this on books I have read.
I am not sure if this is rushing it or not and would also appreiate some advice off someone who has actually done this already!!

Yeah I'm doing the same. Planning on being at Ko Pha Nan for the full moon party on Jan 14th too! Was reckoning on 4 weeks from Bankok down to Siingapore myself but again am not sure if this is long enough.
Advice please.

You can take bus coaches to Singapore very cheaply. You will travel via Malaysia that way.
In Bangkok, the floating market is a great place to go. Also get the foot massages offered there as its cheap and you can get your feet some well needed pampering. There are some really nice Buddhist Wats (temples) in Bangkok. Might want to have a look at that.
Singapore is just a city. There are places to visit but you need cash. The island of Sentosa is nice. You can spend the whole day there. Little India is free.
Singapore is drug free. Anyone possessing drugs (I think above 18 grams gets the death sentence). Singapore is a good safe clean place.
