My problem is to get from bombay to goa.Does nybody know if there is a train or bus direction to goa (is it dangerous to travel alone as a girl from bombay to goa?)?Does anybody know a hostel in bombay were I can stay if i don´t get a diretion to goa at the day were i´ll arrive. It would be great if somebody could answere my question. Thanks

shona_uk Guest	# Posted: 7 Aug 2005 14:46:26 Hi Getting a train to goa is relatively cheap (around £12) but takes quite a long time and there is only one a day. Flying is a better option depending upon your budget...it will cost around £50 and there are around 6 flights a day with various airlines. Air India are pretty good, check out their website for fares etc. Its certainly a safer option as a girl travelling alone. Enjoy your journey Shona
travelguru Member	# Posted: 12 Aug 2005 20:45:40 hey goa is well connected with mumbai by bus , trains and flights...u can get a sleeper class ticket in a train for around 7 dollars and ac compartment for 15 dollars. it takes around 12 hrs by train or bus ...There are at least 5-7 daily trains between the two cities... for a quicker journey u can take the plane which takes not more than 45 mins... there is a good bus service between the cities too.. for more information on the trains you can check out the the indian railway site http://www.indianrail.gov.in/ bye

I want to catch the train from Mumbia rather than fly as its part of the Indian experience but am also afraid of doing this alone.
