jen180284 Member	# Posted: 18 Jan 2010 15:03:33 Hi everyone, i am about to leave to go to Oz to backpack for a month (first timer) and I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice how to handle your money. I dont want to be carrying around large amounts of cash, whats the best thing to do? Not the biggest fan of credit cards, have a visa debit which im presuming can be used most places (although prob with a charge each time) Whats the norm for backpackers ? bex552 Member united Kingdom	# Posted: 3 Feb 2010 23:01:19 I opened an Australian bank account but I was there for four months. I had an english Nationwide account too which is cheaper on the charges. Hope this helps
