Hi everyone!
My plans in a nutshell:
North Korea - 1 week/10 days, during Aug/early Sept'.08
Russia - the trans-siberian (Asia-Europe) for 1/2 months, starting Sept.08
And now here's the diatribe...
I'm a 22 year old English rose(...!) currently living in South Korea, where I'm due to stay until August 2008. At that point I plan to return home, but not before visiting North Korea, where I hope to go with Koryo tours to see the Arirang Mass Games. Unfortunately, Americans and South Korean nationals can't visit North Korea, and trips are crazy expensive, but it is probably the most interesting place you could hope to visit, right? My friend visited last year and came back with amazing tales of things she saw, people she met...all that 'travel-wisdom' stuff! AND!!! If 3 people (min) book at the same time, then Koryo can offer discounts. So...anyone up for it?
When I leave Korea, I'm also planning to travel home via the Trans-Siberian railway, but from Asia-Europe instead of the more well-trodden Europe-Asia backpacking delight. I'm thinking of taking 1 or 2 months to do this, with maybe a week beforehand at the Kamchatka Peninsula. Everything is very fluid at the mo, but if this sounds like it matches any part of your Russian plans and you'd want to meet up for a day or two along the route then give me a holler!
Happy travelling y'all!
