yeryeryer Member	# Posted: 17 Mar 2010 23:23:08 · Edited by: yeryeryer Hello I’m Tom and I’m 20. im kayaking/canoeing to Italy around the coasts of france spain and portugal. i have acomidation sorted for the whole 4-5months trip, its a tent and i plan to set it up every night along the coast, on the beaches. this isnt going to be some drag where we have to stick to a schedule I have no set plan, we can stop off in areas for days relaxing on the beach or whatever if wanting to, this is going to be an enjoyable and unforgetable experience. just imagine the cool breeze and the hot beeming sun your back as we paddle effortlessly through cool blue sea, living like Ray Mear or someone similar. The Distance from Eastbourne (not necessarily our departure point) to the coast lying closest to Rome is 2648nm (nautical miles) (3048 miles). If we paddled 8-10 hours we could travel 20-35nm a day. 2648nm divided by 20nm equals 132days or four and a half months. Budget to £5 a day on food and drink say we take 150 days that’s £750 ild say you would at least need £1000 Kayaks/canoes can bought on ebay, cheap or expensive. I have some kayaking experience, and I wouldn’t say it is necessary to have, but a kayak is. If your interested then let me know and we can talk about further details
