Milli2512 Guest	# Posted: 20 Jul 2005 14:05:24 Hi, I'm setting off on the 8th of sept 2005, travelling to Thailand for 3weeks with a friend and then on to Oz for 3mths on my own, planning to do East coast. Going to NZ (Auckland) 0n 20th Dec for 3-6mths. I've never done anything like this before, although i'm excited i'm also slightly apprehensive. Would be great to hear from people who will be out there too, also any tips e.g. things to do, places to see etc. I'm female, aged 24. Milli :-)

How are you doing this? is it a RTW ticket with the 3 stopovers in each of OZ and NZ? would be gratefull for advice as the agent says i have to give them the exact dates for travel etc I could do europe till sept?
redrach Guest	# Posted: 18 Aug 2005 17:14:51 Hi Milli, I'm also off travelling alone to Oz - I'm 24 and have worked abroad before but never travelled as such. I too am excited about my trip but also slightly scared! I've been saving up for about 6 months so it's been in the pipeline for a while but I've only very recently decided it was going to be a worldwide trip. I'm starting in Japan and Singapore for a couple of weeks then flying to Sydney where I hope to work for a couple of months before moving onto Melbourne and Cairns and coming back to the UK via NZ and US. I'm setting off in mid-late September. Any useful tips for a female backpacker travelling and working alone for the first time would be much appreciated, as would contact from anyone likely to be anywhere I'm going, when I'm going to be there. trac_uk Guest	# Posted: 19 Aug 2005 15:26:54 Hi Milli and Rachael, Im off to Oz probably via Hong Kong in a couple of mates with some people i work with, one male, one female. I have been to all the continents before apart from Oz and am really excited about it but as having never been there before am a bit apprehensive. As im not sure what to expect and how it will work out with money and work out there! We are starting our trip off in Melbourne and then eventually heading up north, maybe follwoing the crops seasons so we can work at the same time. Maybe either of you would like to make contact by email or messenger or something sometime to discuss ideas and what info we have each found out! Seems like such a bit daunting thing it would be good to chat to some more people about it! Byt the way im male and 25 Cheers Steve :o)

Am travelling down to Singapore then on 19th Oct will be flying to Cairns and will be spending 3 months on the East Coast of Oz on my own, heading over to NZ in January. But maybe we could all meet up on route or discuss ideas! Also i know some of my mates are keen on trying out Thailand as well so any advice or hints would be great! I'm flying in to Sydney the second week in October and will take the Oz Experience bus up the coast if any one is interested. Seems like the best/easiest way to travel. My frequent flyer miles will get me back to Sydney... but I thought about going to Adelide to try out the wine. We should get together. Are you staying in hostels? I'll be bringing a one man tent so I can stay cheaply in the national parks. Who's in? Emily
