Hiya! I'm setting off in March from the UK for a 6 month round the world moment of madness through Russia, India, China, Thailand/Cambodia/Vietnam, Australia and SOuth Africa. I was wondering whether it was worth getting an international simcard?? It will save the hassle of buying local simcards in each country, and I'm only intending to use it in emergencies, keepign in contact with home by email and phone cards from land lines to keep costs down. Any advice guys?? Any particular company people would use that worked well for them?
Many thanks lovelies!

I don't know about the Uk but in Singapore, there's an auto roaming service from most service providers; meaning with just one local sim card, we'll automatically get connected anywhere in the world, of course with international charges. Pretty convenient i would say, beats getting a calling card in every continent. :/
