I have no idea what islands are best, but Ko sumui is supposed to be where the infamous "full moon parties" are set. Right now Im reading about thailand in a nifty little guide book my friend picked up for us. I reccomend getting one, so handy. --> Looking at the map footnotes on the south westcoast of thailand there is a tiny little island that appears to be dedicated to backpackers and gypsies? It's called Ko Lipe? Has anyone heard of this place? And tell me about these gypsies! Life's too short and nobody gets out alive anyways

Koh Pagn Ngan is where the infamous full moon and half moon parties are held, wasn't able to get there myself but many ppl who experienced it and loved it! ( Just be careful of the undercover police trying to sell you drugs and then once you have accepted putting you in prison for 15 years) - But honestly dont worry , it 'll be beau , just have your wits about you. Koh Tao is meant to be beautiful!. Whilst Krabi is not an island it is a beautiful , cute little southern province in which you can chill and then nab a longtail boat to Monkey Island , Railey Beach or a ferry to Koh Phi Phi, If you do head to Koh Phi Phi make sure you head to Koh Phi Phi Lea ( where the 'Beach' was filmed . The larger Koh Phi Phi Don is quite upsetting to view , with the sanitation systems not being able to sustain itself from the heavy influx of tourism, whilst trying to contend and strengthen itself after the tsunami. Koh Samui is meant to be lushious as well , have an amazing time and have a bucket on me!! Dannii x

roccanskater Member Morocco	# Posted: 28 Aug 2006 16:53:56 i was there this august do not miss the full moon party in koh phangan koh samui is cool , but koh phangan is where u can party everyday till the morning on the beach for those lookin to relax , u might wanna try krabi to a backpacker, no other backpacker is a stranger
