Hey Everyone!

I'm a 20 year old girl and I come from Denmark. I'm planning to take a travel around the world, starting in August (if not earlier).
My ideas about this journey, is that it is going to be MY Education in Life. I'm pretty bored with the society and the government in my country (which is quite the same in the whole western world), so my plan is to boy cut the society. I don't feel like anything in our society is normal or real. And the values which are the essentials of this society (such as money, carrier, material things, etc.) are not something I want to dedicate my life to.

Alright. So my plan so far, is to take the transsibirian railway from Moscow to (maybe) Beijing. With ofcourse stops on the way. I'm definitely gonna stay out of big cities, since they have absolutely no interest to me, but instead I'm gonna explore the nature, meet different cultures, meet a lot of people who have a strong connection to the nature.

I hope that I'm gonna run into some people who knows where to find eco-villages. Cause these eco-villages are part of my goal in what i am seeking. I am very interested in finding these and learn from the people who live there and has been part of grounding these places.

So far I am planning to leave home alone and just run into people. But I think it would be super cool if some of you who reads this, maybe feels the same and want to join me.
My trip is going around the whole world, starting in Moscow. I'm thinking (and hoping) 1-2 years travelling. Of course with longer stops on the way. But I'm taking my journey really serious. This journey is going to be my first step into my new life. A life apart from the civilized society.

If you want to get in contact with me, my mail is

And if you want to find me at Facebook, my full name is

Okay, I wish you all the best, and hope there is someone out there in the big world thinking a bit like me ***

Just a little P.S. note:

What I am talking about here, is to learn something about LIFE.

What is the meaning with MY life, and how can I find the deepest connection to who I am and the nature.

I'm talking about The Essence of The Existence.

Hi there,

Mass migration and globalisation has made many of the areas of the world the same. When I first started travelling a few years ago I also thought similiar, but the reality is that life is pretty much the same anywhere. As a traveller you will still find yourself in tourist areas which begs the question - what is the difference between travelling and tourism? In my own personal experience there is not a lot of difference. I guess travellers are looking to budget and extend their stay, wheverever they are as opposed to the tourist who will land in an area and spend until they have nothing left. This is however a contentious issue. Lots of people will disagree with me.

I guess travelling is what you make of it. Look for opportunities that you will relish. Put yourself out there. Walk as much as you can. Travelling on planes, trains and automobiles can ensure you miss out on things. Plan well based on your wants and desires.

I like your eco village idea. I used to work building eco houses and to be honest there are a lot of variations and a lot of differing ideals. I'm not altogether sure about eco villages around the world but it is definately worth researching about. It would help massively if you had prior experience but perhaps you can offer voluntary to begin with.

Anyway good luck on your travels!

Traveling is a way of life education from people and cultures of different countries. I also like nature as same as Anne and I really appreciate her for dedicating her life to nature. It is a big step to change your life. Eco Villages are refreshing places to find peace and tranquility away from the bustling city life of the world. There is a lot of beauty and attraction in nature. The beautiful lakes, mountains, trees and valleys motivate you to explore them and seek pleasure and satisfaction.

Without wishing to be critical but eco villages require a lot more understanding than a label. The majority of eco villages I have read about are completely ineffecient. In my neck of the woods we had the chance to have built an eco village but we rejected it because of the strain it would have put on the community, destroying natural habits, increase in transportations links. Labels and brands need to be truly understood.

Thanks for your replies

It's really nice to hear your points of views.
Personally, even though I have no experience, I have a big believe that eco villages (In the way I imagine them) does exist. I have found this page: www.wwoof.com, and here you can actually find eco villages all around the world, with a really cool concept. But if there doesn't exist one, with the right mentality, purpose and connection towards nature, how I think it should be, then of course I'm gonna be part of grounding such a place! - some day
