I'm new to the board...what a great resource this site is...
I am another of those burned out humans, tired of the filing cabinets and Flourescent Lights....Time to go on walkabout...
Wondering a few things and this one came to mind ....I am 31 years old...I see a lot of mentions of the "youth Hostel"...Do most of these Hostels not allow people my age?
I've saved a bit, and can travel for the rest of my life if I can hang in these affordable places...
Can anyone advise?
Now where to start.....

Hi SCHomeAway, welcome to the forum!
Great decision on doing a walkabout, you'll be amazed of what the rest of the world has to offer! Regarding youth hostels: you're as old as you feel! :) And don't worry, just about every "youth" hostel allows people of all ages. There are a few around that have an age limit of 30 too, though. But in general, I'm convinced you won't have any problems at all.
What are your ideas on your trip's itinerary?

Well, I am pretty up in the air right now...I don't really have or want a structured plan...just gonna wander and hope money holds out....maybe work when I need to...
Any ideas of a great place to start? What's everyone's favorite palce to visit for awhile?

Without a doubt Thailand , Thailand , Thailand .
Super friendly nation who's ethos of smiling and politeness brightens your trip! Affordable , cheap , lushious cuisine and 5* accomodation which leads you to live like a Princess! Beautiful beaches, no concept of time , an amazing culture and Tuk-Tuks! xxx
