JackBurns Member	# Posted: 3 Feb 2010 01:44:25 Hi, new to the site, potential backpacker from England, I have come up with a list of places which i would like to backpack through, however the list is very large and so i would welcome any suggestions or advice for a first time traveller, whilst looking at the note please note that I especially want to visit Thailand and most parts of Asia, Austrailia, New Zealand and South America, although Europe and North and Central America are also options. List is as follows : Central America – Venzuela, Costa Rica, America – Mexico, USA, Canada, Greenland, Argentina, Brazil. Asia – India, Thailand, China, Malaysia, Phillipines, Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Nepal. Austrailia, New Zealand, Fiji, Cook Islands. Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Greece, Italy, Holland, Switzerland. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Carly Member Brighton, England	# Posted: 6 Feb 2010 04:39:51 Sounds like a mammoth trip but should be awesome! You could get a one world rtw ticket which gives you 3 flights within each continent. Obviously the more continents you do the more expensive it is. You also don't have to connect the dots with your flights so if you fly to Thailand and want to travel around south east asia by bus/train you can then pick up your next flight from Singapore for example. You could probably do Thailand - Singapore - Australia - New Zealand - Fiji - Cook Islands - South America - Central America - North America and fly back to London from Canada. You do have to start and finish in the same place. For Europe I would say you are better off getting the eurostar from London and inter-railing around - its much cheaper and a great way to explore europe.
