I'm from Belgium and last year I went to Brazil. But then i could go in february and march. I'm a little afraid for travelling in the rainseason in some countries.... Someone who can give me tips? Melisa Amelia Poluan Member Indonesia, North Sulawesi	# Posted: 27 Jan 2010 10:23:20 Dear Sey,, hey there... well, I would like to give you some suggestions but, I am lil' bit affraid since I am a newbie backpacker as well oups almost forget to introduce my self I am Melisa (20, F - Manado-Indonesia) Well, first thing first, have u been here in Indonesia or Bali? >yes or no< ... I suggest u to travel to BALI.. I went there last year on Sept- Oct and it was amazing there. Everything is cheap there(well, of course there are many of expensive resort/hotel, meals, etc --- if u want something lux). I went there only for 1 week(based on my planed before), but then I decided to stay there longer for 6 weeks --in fact, I even got a job there as Sales Executive of one star hotel(tarting to find a job since I have no much money/ not enough for surviving there.. hehehe :lol hemm,,, or... if you like diving or treking... BETTER u come here to Manado, North Sulawesi Where Bunaken Island is and some of volcanoes).. u can dive and do trek here... How's that? I'll meet some friends there, and then myself and one friend are planning to guide 2 trips around Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize. It is a wonderful place full of culture and eco type parks, activities. If you really like authentic traveling and like getting to know a different culture I would recommend you do one of Merida's pueblo routes. One basically just picks different pueblos to go visit and spend the day in. Many have mayan ruins, cenotes, and other eco. type of offerings. Another benefit is that it is just 3 or so hours from Cancun Mexico ( where I am from) in case you felt like hitting up beautiful beaches Although Cancun is beautiful, I recommend Merida more if you appreciate more of a native cultural trip. Personally I like more of this type of travel.
