First time travellers(budget)

hi folks i am looking to spend around 8 weeks on a round the world trip and was just wondering what sort of buget i should expect? flights etc are already paid for so they dont matter just accomadation and food etc. Plan is roughly 2/3 weeks in thailand then 3 weeks aus, week nz then 1 week fiji before a few days in LA on the way home. Any help appreciated

Well, that is not exactly an around the world itinerary, but nevertheless...Your really packing in a lot of areas in a short amount of time.
Do you have any particular plans in mind...If all you want to do is eat, sleep, and walk around, you could probably do it for $20 (US) per day (but I think that low of a budget would be pushing it in NZ and AUS, but if you actually want to do stuff and somewhat enjoy where you stay, $50 per day is not unreasonable.
To each his own I suppose, but given the limited amount of time, If I were you, I would probably skip Aus. all together and spend 3 weeks in New Zealand.

I would recommend malaysia if your going to thailand! I have been travelling here and its fantastic. I have spent my best time in malaysia, one place sticks out the most....sea gypsy village, pulau sibu, check out www.siburesort.com. Your so close and its so cheap!!
