Hi, we are Becky and Kate from the UK (Norfolk and Beds)
We are going on a 7 month backpacking trip starting June 10th 2009 (yay!!)
Our route is UK - Thailand (3-4 wks) - OZ (4 mths, working) - Chile overland Peru (Trek 3/4 weeks) - America (6 weeks)
We are very excited and in the process of sorting everything out, very stressful but it'll be worth it.
We are on here to chat about travelling and to get advice on transport/money/hostels/work for the countries we are visiting.
Experience is everything |

Hi, I'm from Malaysia, the small city of Petaling Jaya near Kuala Lumpur to be exact.
I am planning to backpack to Toronto for an art lesson trip, where I'll be visiting some art classes to do some life drawing. I'm thinking of staying in the city for three months or so, probably work there. Also, visit some comic book conventions or comic book stores while I'm there. And meanwhile, savour Canada's countryside.
While I can find at least a few art classes around the city, I might still need help with a few things namely airfare, accomodation & visa.
In regards to visa, how much in CDN$ should I require to bring to be accepted into Canada? I can check out other requirements on most Canadian visa websites, but they're quite vague on how much I should bring.
On accomodation, anywhere in Toronto that can allow me to stay for at least three months at an affordable price?
And airfare, is there anyone here kind enough to help save, collect or share some airfare expenses?
Please email me at ahmadzaki88@gmail.com, if you have any suggestion.

Hi all. I`m a new member from Indonesia. There`s so many places in Java and Bali which gave u a special traveling experience.
In Java you can start your trip from Surabaya ,East Java. then you can go to Bromo mountain which have a great sunrice and see the Tengger tribe cultures who lived there. and then to Semeru (Mahameru) mountain ,this is the active and higher mountain in Java. you`ll see the beautiful lake there and you can feel the blasting mountain on the top. but don`t worry it`s save `coz it just a small blast. and then ... let`s go to the beach on Bali. That`s just a little information for you about indonesian trip places.
I hope that`s usually for u. So... Let`s go trip...

Hey guys,
I'm Benjamin. I'm a 19 year old male from Melbourne, Australia. I plan go go backpacking in early 2011. I know it's a long time away, but my university degree comes before travel. I'm studing Conservation Biology and Botany at Monash University.
I wish to travel across the world and have decided to start planning my trip from here on in. I love hiking and nature so the basis of my trips will centre around this. However, I am willing to see pretty much anything and everything. I will be travelling for probably one year, and will be paying my way as I go which means I'll be working here and there. I'll most likely have about AUS $20,000 saved up before I depart.
If anyone has any similar plans and would like to discuss possibly backpacking together then just send me an email at finnbe@hotmail.com. I don't really have any plans thusfar and are open to any suggestions.
Regards,
Benjamin
