Hi Rob,
Here are a few more suggestions!
http://www.wwoof.org/
http://www.couchsurfing.org/
World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms is an world wide network exchange - in return for volunteer help, WWOOF hosts offer food, accommodation and opportunities to learn about organic lifestyles. I've read from two online reviews that it has been very fun and enriching..
As for Couchsurfing, I can't express amazing this site is - though I've yet to truly experience it but the profiles I've read, the friendships made - it seems absolutely fun filling (: It helps you make connections worldwide. You can use the network to meet people and then go and surf other members' couches! When you surf a couch, you are a guest at someone's house. They will provide you with some sort of accommodation, a penthouse apartment or maybe a back yard to pitch your tent in. Stays can be as short as a cup of coffee, a night or two, or even a few months or more.
And CouchSurfing is not about the furniture, not just about finding free accommodations around the world; it's about making connections worldwide. We make the world a better place by opening our homes, our hearts, and our lives. We open our minds and welcome the knowledge that cultural exchange makes available. We create deep and meaningful connections that cross oceans, continents and cultures. CouchSurfing wants to change not only the way we travel, but how we relate to the world!
Regards,
Hui Ying, Singapore

Hi,
My name is Manny from Australia 37 years male, I am not here to look for some advice but rather for those people who wants to travel in Oz and wants some quid or money to support their travel. I'm fruit picking by profession and if you want to get a little bit of money while travelling just send me some email at manny_pante @yahoo.com. Perhaps i could help you a little bit while crossing the tour down under.Am at Renmark at the moment picking citrus till early December.

Hi
My name is Marion, 19 years old from England. I am planning a short solo backpacking trip to Berlin and Croatia this september.
I have never been travelling before so it's all new to me.
If anyone is heading to these places at all this september let me know! It'd be good to meet new people. Also if anyone has got any information about them then that would be great too
