greetings to all!

My name's Rishi, 20 m, frm india. Well, to say the least, i'm a travel freak! All i want to do, is travel the world and live a simple life. So far though,i've just been backpacking around india, because it would be quite stupid on my part to travel outside, before exploring my own country to the fullest. There's so much to see here, and each place is different from the rest. Its a trip in itself. In two weeks, i head up north to the magical mountains of india - old manali, dharamsala, malana, solang,mc lodegunj, tosh etc etc. Man, cant wait.
Come december, i might go to nepal & thailand & once i graduate, i really wanna go to south america, brazil in particular. I love the spirit of that place.

Well, take care folks..
Keep the energy flowing!

Love & peace..

Rishi

Hi

My name is Rick, from Singapore. Currently employed as a booker in a modelling agency. Yes, I see beautiful people everyday, though I want to see the beauty of the world as well. :)

Prior travelling experience have been limited. I'm a beginner in backpacking and independent travel. I wish to explore areas of Latin America and many parts of the world besides my own region, probably making lots of lifelong friends throughout my journey.

I plan to travel in 2006, though $$ seems to be an issue now, I shall see what I can do with it. Probably I need to start planning right now!

Seize the day, the going gets tough, the tough gets going!

Hey all,
my names Brendan, I'm 20, from Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.
As for travelling experience, mine is quite limited. I have extensively travelled the east coast of australia, and in to adeliade on the south coast, but that is it so far.
I am currently planning my big trip o/s for mid next year, where i will take in south and north america, asia and europe. All in a year, then return to start uni (i know im late!)

Cheers
Bren.

Greetings all,

I'm a 22 year old girl living in the Philadelphia area, with a BA in history, currently studying for a graduate degree in secondary education. My only trip to Europe was my semester abroad in Rome, fall 2003, which was absolutely the best experience. While there I travelled around Italy and also to some other places, Corsica and Austria. Although I am usually a complete homebody and hated going away to college, I never wanted to leave Europe! I have my plane tickets to go to France, finally, for two weeks this winter with my roommate from Rome, and can't wait to go, being a complete Franophile.

I love reading about other people's experiences on this forum and hope to gain some useful ideas for my upcoming, and future, trips.

Hello everyone,
I am 20 years old and just done a years travelling around asia. Back to university now :-( I have seen a lot of places over the past year and my favourite was Malaysia. It is fantastic, safe and resonably priced place. One place sticks out the most Sea Gypsy Village on pulau Sibu, take a look www.siburesort.com If you want paradise, like beaches, local food and a back packing hut on the beach then this is for you. The cost is so reasonable. I also enjoyed Singapore although it is a little more expensive.
good luck to all travellers!

Hi everyone!

I'm Natalie, a 23-year-old American grad student at UC San Diego. I've done a bit of travelling in my life, although no proper backpacking yet. In high school I went on a 3-week camping/geology program that covered most of the South-Western US, including the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zions, Arches, Rocky Mountain National Park, and loads more. A few years later I went to Europe with a program called American Music Abroad - basically an excuse for band nerds to travel to Europe. We went to Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and France in about 2.5 weeks and played some random concerts for the townsfolk. Then, upon graduating college, I participated in a program called International Student Volunteers and travelled with them to Australia and Fiji.

Currently I'm locked into a PhD program in biomedical sciences, which should take me about another 4 years to complete. While this puts a damper on any full-scale backpacking trips, it does allow me to take some flexible vacations and it also puts off the real world for a few more years. Currently, I'm thinking about travelling to Ireland in April for about 10 days. If anyone has any advice on that, I'd appreciate it. Also, if anyone needs any advice for Southern California, I'd be more than happy to help out.

Cheers and happy travelling,

Natalie

Hi, my name is Diana , im 21 and from Ontario, Canada

This would be my first time going abroad. I plan on going backpacking in Europe for 2 or 3 months next spring/ summer. It depends on if my friend is coming with me. I will definatly be looking into getting a work Visa, i may end up staying there longer. It was a spur of the moment thing, I decied not to go back to school and go backpacking instead. I know its crazy, but hey. thats me.

and i have to agree with Colin, when he said that everyone here seems really nice

Hi, my name is Naomi and I'm a 20 y/o Aussie girl. I'm currently living in Tokyo, where I have been for the past 4 months... India is next, although I'm scared, mostly of confronting the backpacking experience. If anybody would like to give advice on India, feel free, it would be much appreciated... Thank you!!

Im Rachel! im 18 I plan to travel in 2007 after i have finished college and then saved for a year.
I want to go pretty much everywhere especially new zealand to do my extreme sports, india, thailand, south africa, south america and so on.
What i would REALLY like is to do a work placement working with animals and gain some knowledge or even a qualification so I can then use this to become a RSPCA inspector once iv returned.
Im worried only about two things: 1) money and if a year of saving is enough and 2) travelling alone.
But im doing it no matter what set-backs i have.

Hi my name's Phil and I am currently in England. I am interested in mountain biking somewhere like the Great Divide Trail from Canada to New Mexico, or the Way of St.James in Spain, or the GR10 in Southern France and Northern Spain, or in the Alps. I want to see if anyone else out there would be at all interested in getting together as a small team to do this. Obviously the time of year needs to be taken into account for such ventures, especially the Great Divide Trail, so even early next year would be ok for me. Please get back to me with any ideas and suggestions if you are up for something like this. Thanks Phil.

Hi

I'm 28 and live in the US. I'm American but I lived the last 13 year in the UK so I'm adjusting to life back here. 6 years ago I spent 1 year travelling. I spent a lot of 'extended' holidays in SE Asia when I lived in the UK and I recently came back from spending 3 months in SE Asia. On this last trip I went to Cambodia and Vietnam and I totally fell in love with Cambodia...I'm in the process of planning my next trip out there.....

Hello, my name is Sam. I am a 22 year old male from the U.S. and I am planning an 8 month trip to Southeast Asia, but I don't know where to begin. I am planning to go throughout Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Thailand in Sept. of 2006. I am almost completely new to travelling outside the U.S. and I don't know what requirements I have to meet to enter different countries. Any info. or advice would be greatly appreciated. I am very excited about my upcoming trip, but family and friend support has been very disheartening.
