Hi guys
Damon 33 from Scotland.
I am heading out to the Greek islands June'07 for the summer. I could always wake up one morning and head somewhere else. Having been to close a 100 countries, I still enjoy going back to the islands...Paradise.

Hello,
I’m Wendy, a first year high school student from Arnhem, the Netherlands. I Study Industrial Product Design.
At the moment, I’m doing an assignment for school to design something for backpackers that holds: Food, valuable things, cooking stuff or clothing. I’m not sure which subject I’m going to choose, because I don’t know much about backpacking.
Therefore, I would appreciate it if you would fill out this short enquête (only people who have backpacked).
You can post the completed enquête here, or mail it to me at wendy_dolfijnen@hotmail.com
Very much thanks in advance!
The enquete:
1. Have you ever backpacked, if yes, where?
2. Do you ever lost something, if yes, what?
3. What are the important things to take with you?
4. What are the important things to put away: Food, valuable things, cooking stuff or clothes? Why?
5. What takes the most space of these 4 things?
6. What things do you take with you most?
7. What things do you lose?
8. What do you look for most during your trip?
9. Are there any problems separating these items? If yes what?
10. What is demolished most during your trip? Do you know what caused that?
11. Where do you keep your food??
12. Where do you keep your valuable things?
13. Where do you keep your clothes that had been weared?
14. Where do you keep your cooking stuff?
15. How do you maintain order?
16. Is there often a mess? And what caused that mess?
17. Has there been stolen something from you on a trip? If yes, what?

What's up? I'm Jason, a somewhat obsessive traveler, stuck in rainy Portland at the moment and dangerously close to buying another one-way ticket to somewhere. In the meantime, I've been digging around this site, gathering inspirtaion from others. Probably dangerous...

Hi all,
This is my first time joining this web & found that it's rather interesting
I'm a 25 years old lady from Malaysia... Emmm... Most of the westerners thought that this is a Muslim country but actually it's not... What i can say is... 70 percent of the ppl here are Malays and that's why the misunderstanding is created :P... For me i'm a Malaysian-Chinese with a rather fair complexion & currently staying @ the capital of Malaysia - Kuala Lumpur... Staying alone & is use to travel alone as well ...
Emmm... I love travelling & started my first back-packing trip since 23 years old... 2 years gone & i'm now still not able to find the right travel partner :P... Well i'm not ugly but just hardly find the travel partner in my country b'cos most of the ppl here think that i'm doing the crazy stuff by back-packing alone :P
Anybody interested please drop me an email at: jamielim_2000@hotmail.com... I really hope that i could get someone to share the stories during my incoming trips ya

hope you all get to thailand at least once, food is good and safe for the backpacker, some term that thai people dont much about ,they call there version home stay ,trains are quite good and cheap they go north south and to the north east toward nonkhai the frienship bridge, there are plenty good web pages on the net to give you information, the tourist association of thailand is very good...road signs in the north east are not always in english, but its beautifull and the real place to be in this country ,they also need the influx of business to help this poor but smilling part of the world, you might see me cycling around.you will be welcome in the village that i stay in ,im no prisoner so be seeing you

hi muchachos,
i'm 20 and from england, have limited travelling experience, but a huge desire to do much more. i'm interested in photography, diving, art, culture, music, rum! meditation, i'm not very good at these self description things, i'm easy-going (aquarius) and get along with pretty much everyone.
i'm planning on getting out to mexico at the start of september, and seeing where my travels take me through the glorious latin america. i have allready spent ten weeks in nicaragua last year and simply fell in love with the culture and energy.
i have, to say the least, limited funds for my travelling, but i think half the adventure is the challenges. i want to explore all i can of central america, and have some volunteer work lined up in nov/dec/jan, but hope to make it all the way down to peru in feb!!
i'd be really happy to meet up with other nomads as i'm off on my own and being a young lady it's a little dawnting, but exhilerating all the same! please let me know if you are in any part of central america through this year, and want to hook up for some cervessas, or if you just have any great tips to keep me safe and happy!
happy travelling guys
love and peace
lizzy

Hey, my name's Bob. I left Boston 22 months ago on this current trip which has taken me through California, Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Laos. I've also spent 2 years living and working in Europe. Basically, I've have a deep passion for travel, like most people on this site, and it's been my pursuit since graduating uni in 2000. I have a website where I've recorded my previous and current travels, photos, writing, etc. During my time in Europe and my current trip, I spent 2 years working for STA Travel, as an agent, which I've felt has really helped me on my current journey. So, howdy all, if anyone as any questions, feel free to ask, and for those of you aspiring to go traveling, I hope you do, I've had many of the best times of my life on the Road.
